A Mournful Heart

by Arthurine B. Rice

           Small tear drops,
           A mournful heart,
         He left me lonely with
          Just one small card.

         My heart shredded,
            I sit alone,
       Angry, hurt and troubled,
          For, my man is gone.

His magical lips no more to kiss,
     Sleeping closely next to him,
Is my desire and what I miss.

No longer to glance his handsome face,
        Without him being here,
This house is a lonely place.

         The roses he sent me,
           Linger in my mind,
        They keep me reminiscing
        About him all the time.

    Our relationship will never end,
In my heart / mind he will always be
     My love, companion and friend!
