The Child Who Blames, Blames No More!

by Arthurine B Rice

Sitting in an old jail cell
Tearfully and angrily waiting
A child, age twelve
His entire life has been hell.

Blaming his problems on you and me
Crying hysterically, tears falling like rain
Planning a way to terminate
His from this society.

He listens as voices discuss his lifestyle
Frightened, like an animal running in the
Night, plotting and planning
His execution all the while.

He holds extreme anger in his heart
Sitting nervously and shamefully
Reminiscing about his life
That now tears him apart.

An angry little boy in a jail cell
Hurting, like an injured soldier
Rrealizes no one cares
His entire life has been hell.

Remorsefulness dominates his heart
The crimes committed
Haunt him like he is an
Escaped prisoner at lodge.

Like a motionless object, laying on a bed
The child who once sat
Reminiscing and crying
Now appeared to be dead.

No longer blaming his problems on you and me
This twelve year old child
Found a way to terminate
His life from this society!
