Alicia Smith is a married mother of two who has been in love with Poetry and African American Literature for the past 19 years. It wasn't until co-workers read some of her works and offered to buy them that she began to take something that she considered a hobby more seriously. She is currently in the process of preparing two pieces of work. The first will be a work of poetry geared towards the beauty and self appreciation of the African American woman entitled "What That Sista Said." Her second work is a work of fiction entitled "Bless This Family." She says "My goal is to begin my journey in the pursuit of happiness by doing what I love...writing."
