Black Woman Silver Tears

by Zymone B

Bid me not the pain of life
nor misery of grief or strife
Bid me not the pain of years
but yet I stand, Black Woman Silver Tears

Transparent love embraced by profound blues
I am the mother of a nation sorrowful and few
I am the black silk of midnights fear
but yet I stand Black Woman Silver Tears

I am she who embraces the pain of many
judging with love and mercy for the plenty
I am the rich arms of ebonies color
I am the strong, the weak , the determined black mother

See me stand as proud as the night
with outstretched wings as an angel seeking flight
See me withhold the pain of years
Behold my stance, Black Woman Silver Tears

Peace be silent as tears flow warm
down my ebony face like a soft thunderstorm
bid me not the comfortless years
forever I will stand , Black Woman Silver Tears
