Z. Michael Jack

Z. Michael Jack is Assistant Professor of English at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, where he directs the program in Journalism and Non-fiction. He received his MFA from the University of Alabama, where he served as an Associate Poetry Editor for the Black Warrior Review.

His recent work includes an essay-review of Mary Oliver's The Leaf and the Cloud (Da Capo 2000), as well as shorter reviews of Chelsea Minnis' Zirconia (Fence Books 2001) and David Rivard's Bewitched Playground (Graywolf 2000). The reviews appeared in Poetrbay, Warrior Web, and the Black Warrior Review, respectively. He has also served as an Assistant Producer for Alabama Public Radio's Sunday Magazine, for which he produced interviews with poets C.D. Wright, Lorenzo Thomas, and Kalamu Ya Salaam, among others.
