A Teacher

by Zaki

my mind and i raced along the
lonely path toward self-
righteousness, raced
through the ‘hood, where everyone
deserves what they get..
we crashed into black dreams,
and shattered them.. we
destroyed unworthy futures, then took
precautions to ensure
there will be a blemish.. we
scarred the present,
reiterated our contradictory past…
my mind and eye felt little
remorse, but staged a
formal exhibition to shield
the ruse… we dashed
the hopes of the hopeless without
losing focus
timeless, soul-less, boldness identifies
the coldness – as darkness
descends upon the realm of my destruction…
my passion reserved for those
material symbols of my arrival..
induction into the hall
of shame, though i will not attend
the ceremony.. survival
is my bottom line… and although
i left them
on their bottom,
lying in a pool of life force – death
became them…
and no one will do us part
just us for justice
just us for justice…
