Black & Proud Haiku Series (III - IX)

by W.P. Jackson

 III.

Break these chains of hate
Let us rejoice in our love
Mississippi burns

IV.

What makes man a man
Is it a new fresh haircut?
No. It lives within.

V.

Tapestry of life
Woven between the music
Notes of the heavens

VI.

Many good men have lost
The love of a great woman.
I have joined the crew.

VII.

Malt liquor and smokes.
Stereotypical lies.
Blood in and blood out.

VIII.

FUBU was my jam.
E40 and Wyclef Jean
Bumpin in the trunk

IX.

Pocket full of Kools
I never smile in pictures
And other cliches.
