Darkness's Eye

by Willie L. Green

Tonite I close my right eye
So that my left eye can see
At darkest nite
that how I'll be me
As I walk the land
I find That man has become an
Unholy sea
Darkest Lite,
Unholy fight
And I'm not sure
If I am victim of dirtiest of lure
Scent of a woman
An illness with no cure
A search for truth and a love so pure

Tonite I close my left eye
So that my right eye can see
At darkest nite
that's how I'll be me
When I plant my seeds
I pray they feed
on something stronger
than man's greed
The option of money
Power's so funny
Neither fulfills my needs

Tonite I close both eyes
So that my soul may see
At darkest nite
that's how I'll be me
I stand at my cross roads
I know her steps
I call her darkness's eye
others call her
"Death"
I know her well
We've crossed pathes many times
Tis a fact proven true
I hear her ask
"Will you be ready when next
The soul is you"
