Thirty Pieces of Silver (Two)

by Lionel C. Whitehead

For thirty pieces of silver
All seemed so lost
They drug Jesus off like He was a dog
Jesus' three disciples should have united with him,
But instead they ran off full of fear
deserting the king of kings
They left the one declared to so dear..
As the devil and his angels laughed and shouted with cheer
Looked at them now running in fear
I can hear the devil say
Their king, the son of God
The devil laughed and howled
So loud the thunder roared
The clouds turned dark
As purity land in the demons hand
They foolishly thought they had a simple man.
