Whatever happened to the promise of America?
Has it left like migratory birds,
Only never to return?
Or will it rise again like The Phoenix,
And give substance to the undying hope that we hold dear.
Is the promise of America forgotten?
Or will it take the likes of the unlikely to resurrect it
Through the dawns early light
That is shaded by foggy political deceptions
Of Broad lies, and bright inactions.
The Princes of the 21st century
Have been taken by Machiavellian theories
Of divide and conquer
By the proponents of war
That double as the safeguards of fear.
And to the Republic for which it crumbles,
One nation under God will forever be destroyed
Unless we unite under times of peace,
Not only strife.
Only then will we be the land of the free, and home of the brave.
