Miss Vickie is President/ Founder of Butterfly Loves Publishing, Inc., an establishment for her book, The Trouble I See. She is a 1993 Knoxville College graduate, with a B.A. in Communications and 1998 Alabama State University graduate with a M.Ed. in English Education. She is a certified English teacher currently residing in Decatur and is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. Miss Vickie used her artistic vision to create instructive poetic storylines. They are straight forward in reference to the lack of discipline among teens that may continue to go untold were it not for Miss Vickie. |
Her poetic lines of discipline were carefully composed with rhyme because of the love teenagers have for RAP. Her poetry is awesome, and many can see much of themselves in the messages.
The company's mission is to help U-HELP-SAVE-A-TEEN. The company serves as a vehicle to give teenagers and parents the opportunity to speak out and be heard on various discipline problems in communities throughout the United States. Many books have been donated to youth programs. Miss Vickie conducts U-HELP-SAVE-A-TEEN Workshops around the world. In addition to writing poetry, Miss Vickie co-produced and directed many plays depicting African American history which include "The March On Washington," "The Sit-In," "Pass The Torch To The Next Generation," and "The Montgomery Bus Boycott."
Miss Vickie is also recording a poetry CD of The Trouble I Seewhich will be released soon. Her next book a "diary of a military wife," scheduled to be released in the fall of 2003 is an autobiography entitled, Everything That Glittered Was Not Gold: Twenty-two Years with An Officer and A Gentleman of the US Air Force.
Miss Vickie has received numerous awards and honors for her poetry, performances, motivational speeches, and campaign to HELP-SAVE-A-TEEN.
