The 5 P's

by VaShon J. Brown

Pimps, pushers, prostitutes, “phornicators,”
and self-proclaimed preachers,
These 5 P’s are the epitome
of life’s most despicable and most valueless teachers;

Pimps are enforcers of life’s most avaricious sins,
They manipulate bodies and minds
Just to make and keep their ends;
Pimps have been pimpin’ since pimpin’ been pimpin’;

Pushers are enhancers
for the weak in mind to settle for less,
Encouraging others to take this and that
To relieve their perpetual stress;
Causing them temporal and euphoric happiness,
And leaving their addicted consumers
Completely penniless;

Prostitutes act out lascivious sins
To give them life,
But as the saying goes,
You can’t change a whore into a husband or a housewife;
Well, in my mind, that’s my perception,
Making bastards on top of bastards with continuous conception;

“Phornicators” capture the essence
of forbidden sins being act out,
they bring silence to the surface as evidence,
giving the world immoral pictures of things
that one can only fantasize about;
An uncompromising situation
Can be the result of an irresponsible escapade,
“phornicators” must lie down
in the unclean bed they have made;

Self-proclaimed preachers are self-educators
Who produce sermons avant-garde,
Telling others to get right and live holy
Without cleaning up their own backyard;
Blaspheming, twisting, turning
around God’s Word,
They speak but don’t absorb
The message and the consequence of sin go unheard;

Pride, anger, slothness, gluttony, greed, lust, and envy
Combined with the 5 P’s equalizes
The root of all evil,
The love of money.
