Last Call

by Timothy W. Crawford

Tranquil nite interrupted with sounds of quarrel,
'bet liquor inticed the fight; Courvosier; Crown Royal.
Heard Mrs. Johnson screaming like a jet,
"Get out my house fool or I'll break your neck".
Heard Mr. Johnson yell "I'll smack you twice
Win or lose yah hefer, you roll the dice"
Next morning I see them all nonchalant like the walls were made of steel,
I guess what's done in the dark spills out in the glass when spirits are
served as the meal.
