Despair

by Tubal Cain

All alone,
Within this hut,
the floor already flooded,
I perch, like a humming bird,
On top of a wooden cabinet,
Staring down,overwhelmed,
A wooden spoon,clay pot,
Two earthernware bowls,
My only earthly possessions,
Float steadily.
Nature's own,
I was once called,
How come I await
Like all mere mortals
 this fate?
DESPAIR
All alone,
Within this hut,
The floor already flooded,
I perch, like a humming bird,
On top of a wooden cabinet,
Staring down,overwhelmed,
Ceaseless days of heavy rain.
A wooden spoon,clay pot,
Two earthernware bowls,
My only earthly possessions,
Float steadily.
Nature's own,
I was once called,
How come this fate?
