A simple word or phrase I speak
Hoping for a response from someone unseen
In a different place or maybe even time
I’m searching for her and have been for a long time

I don’t even know her name nor seen her face
My soul’s crying out for someone to love
For someone--to take care of my heart
To cherish it as though it was their own

Replacing the drama with consideration and conversation
Conversations of things to enlighten the mind as well as the heart
Consideration without being selfish or only thinking of us
Oh how my heart would love someone like that

In a dream she did appear
Smiling at me and giving me hope
The hope to keep searching
Not losing my way and settling for less

I was never one for love couldn’t make the sacrifice
Since she appeared in my dream I’ve longed for her touch
Helping me to dream and wonder about what if
What if I had someone to take care of heart
