Catch A Raindrop

by Tony P.

Storm clouds approaching from the east
Gale force wind cause my trench coat to flap
Not truly noticing my dreary surroundings
Cause I知 waiting for the first drop of rain
Trying and concentrating on catching a raindrop

Clouds dark as night looking to burst
Spewing forth raindrops like small diamonds
Only one I値l need to create a small miracle
Of doing the impossible of catching a raindrop
Cupping my hands in anticipation of this great feat

Single drops of rain slowly begin to fall
As though Mother Nature was simply teasing me
Like water slowly leaking from a dam one drop at a time
Crashing to earth causing small crater in parch dusty earth
Timing is important cause I知 gonna catch a raindrop

Time is of the essence cause soon it will be to late
Cause soon there will be millions instead of a simple few
When there are many how can you tell when you致e caught one
Try as I might I知 too late clouds burst open spewing pouring water
Not today but maybe one day I値l catch my raindrop
Just like true love catching a raindrop maybe difficult if not impossible
