I found out that darkness is easily seared by light
Burying your head in sand or wishing on a star
Are quite simply the things of an imaginative heart
Or a simple mind exploring different points of light

I found out that life's lonely highway is not really lonely
Loving and believing in yourself is your greatest gift
Self esteem means nothing if you are unhappy with you
Conceit sounds cruel but sometimes its needed

I found out that love is rare and not always fifty fifty
Giving and taking and taking and giving is not always equal
Your fair share or my share neither matters in the end
But one thing rings true and that's we loved each other

I found out that dreams and reality can sometimes blend
Blurring your thoughts and numbing your feelings
Deaf, blind, and mute to the things that surround
But the most important thing that I found out
Was that you're the teacher and I'm the pupil
So teach me the positive and dispel the negative
