A Familiar Dance With Strangers

by Toby

Absent in relation
Only weak covalent bonds
Keep singular stranded DNA
Attached together vaguely

Shadows of unknown beings
Bypass one another
Like spinning elements

Dancing an unfamiliar Waltz
Clumsily tripping over one another

Trying to catch a hold of something
Anything to break that embarrassing fall

Waiting and watching
Hoping the observant crowd would applaud
Their overt yet awkward routine

Even though they've procrastinated
They're diligent in practice
Still looking for perfect scores at the judges table

Not knowing the bonds
Through osmosis created
Are broken easily

However, I join them in the dance
Because I Like the embrace of it

Holding on for dear life
Even if it looks/feels weird

Strangers in relation
Unfamiliar even in likeness

Yet I'm forever willing
Just to be joined together
Even for a short duration
To learn each other
in familiarity
