Loneliness Isn't Anyone's Favorite Friend

by Tina L. Richardson

So you don’t want to be Lonely?
Loneliness isn’t any one’s favorite friend
I know it isn’t mine-
Is it yours?
Is it worth me waiting?
Waiting for the right one that comes along
Cause you know…
Loneliness isn’t any one’s favorite friend
I want to sit on the park bench and feel the
Breeze through my hair
To only look over and see that special friend
I want to feel free with holding hands-
Spontaneously taking drives down the back roads
Enjoying a concert while watching the excitement in their eyes.
I want to gaze at the stars while
Creating a future for us and ours
Or when I’m feeling blue, purple or red
Having a shoulder to lean on.
Cause once, I've tried to create those long spontaneous drives;
I tried to hold hands, I’ve tried to enjoy concerts
I even tried starring at the stars
But we all know that Loneliness isn’t any one’s favorite friend
So…
Loneliness will become my best friend
I will go to the park and sit on the bench
I will take long drives or even go to concerts.
And even think of my future
And so on and so on
My favorite friend is ME!
