Transference

by Kimberly M. Thompson

You were there before you came to me
When I needed a smile you radiated warmth to my lips
When I needed to be held you sealed me like an envelope
You were there before you came to me

The adoration of a man
Gentle of heart and kindness of spirit
Soft spoken, strong yet easy
Delicate verbal penetration, piercing visual stimulation
Hovering across the plains of my body

This is the making of you
The architecture of a man, the man, my man
Many have tried to fit the mold and hold onto the impression of...”In There”
Release comes like petals thrown from a flower girl’s basket
Picked from love me love me not stems
Sudden, unexpected reversal...Once bent and lonely
Petals float back onto a naked stem...one by one...soft and new

Spaces open transformation begins
Clutter falls by the wayside
What is left... the essence of you
An entity seeking home once again

You’re a delicacy
Hard as nails though fragile to the touch
Feeling vibrations from your space to mine
Transference set in motion
What I know of you before you now you during you
I carry with me on me in me

When I needed a smile you radiated warmth to my lips
When I needed to be held you sealed me like an envelope
You were there before you came to me
