Sorrow

by Theresa Taylor

I lost the battle the night before.
I fought for your last breath along with you.
I cried so many tears with the constant thought
of ending which would disappoint my future.
Sorrow is now my birth name.
My beginning is loneliness
My ending is the screaming cries of pain.
Wish, yes to have you here with me, definitely.
Not to share the pain to enjoy
What is given to humanity, life.
I'm here alone.
It's hard for me to swallow
and difficult to speak.
Let me try to introduce myself.
Hello, my first name is empty
My last name is sorrow.
