African American Hymn

by Tarik Nia

My eyes have seen the sorrow
Of the turning from the Lord
In a land of milk and honey
Hungry children are ignored
The helpless are abandoned
And the homeless left outdoors
While truth remains unknown

Glory Glory raise our nation
Glory Glory raise our nation
Glory Glory raise our nation
And let the truth be know

Like Romans in the Bible
Lord they hold our people down
They persecute our leaders
So the truth will not be found
But we are are believers
That we'll turn this world around
And make the truth be known

Glory Glory raise our nation
Glory Glory raise our nation
Glory Glory raise our nation
And let the truth be known

So gather mighty people
And you keep your shoulders square
We're marching forth together
Everybody do his share
We're rising to our glory
Better get yourself prepared
To make the truth be known

Glory Glory raise our nation
Glory Glory raise our nation
Glory Glory raise our nation
And let the truth be known
