I rejoice to see a new day
I have slept away
the fear and pain 
of yesterday

I begin anew
The Earth Mother is
there to greet me
to share a lesson or 
two

there is a chance for 
new life
to see the unseen totems
through awakened eyes

I am more powerful than before
to share my strength and spirit
so that weary hearts may cry 
no more
when the sun rises

life deals me a new hand
I play it out 
the best I can
with every intention to win
and thank God for his grace 
to let me do it all again
