James Brown was no clown…
Pound for pound he holds his own;
Funk, Soul, R&B!
~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~
Get on the good foot
Cape, Maceo, Fred, hit me…
He has a new bag!
~~~~~~~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~
Stand up! Turn it loose…
Living in America;
"I am Back” he says!

Author’s Comments: This is dedicated to the
"Godfather of Soul” music lovers.
James Brown is known as “The hardest working
man in show business.” He is still working
hard after experiencing some difficulties
in life. However, he has recuperated, brushed
off the dust from his clothing and has stated,
“I’m back!” He is performing concerts across
the world after his 72nd birthday, and he is still
the “Godfather of Soul.” Rising to the top
of his act, he is showing the world that
he’s still Mr. Funk, R&B, split, twist, scream,
cape flying, Fred hitting, the sliding
on one leg singer-performer himself,
“James the man Brown!”
One should note that the senryu poem may be
written in a variety of different styles.
The senryu poem is a Japanese form addressing
emotions, feelings or nature. The American form
and styles may deviate from the strict traditional
Japanese senryu forms. However, this senryu style is
in the 5/7/5 syllable format with a total of 17
syllables. The form dates back to the 15th century.
