Crispus Attucks Melody…American Liberty

by Samuel Black

Crispus Attucks where are you?
Looking down on us oh so blue
The man won’t even let us wear new shoes
Oh Brother Attucks you were so true
Boston Massacre would have never stopped you

Crispus Attucks where are you?
Defending the rights of those in trouble
Setting off American liberty like a bubble
Your spirit getting brothers in a huddle
Standing up and unafraid to join the rumble

Crispus Attucks you took a fighting stand
The world knew you were a strong Black man
America should be grateful for your helping hand
First to stand and fall in the American Revolution
Leaving our forces a path leading to liberation

Crispus Attucks you stood in the malay
Boston tea party was a task along the way
The American Revolution started with you
The continental congress planned a way and grew
Opening the doors to prosperity for just a few

Crispus Attucks now here we stand
Still trying to pave a way and expand
Progress is seemingly blocked by the man
Swing by and raise your patriotic hand
We need strong brothers in this land
