You

by Soyini Denise Liburd

You came like the sun, on a cold rainy day
Where the rain fell, the tears fell; but now they've fallen away
Like a fragrant breeze that whispers softly, you caress my soul...
Under your influence a flower reveals herself...
Her petals slowly unfold...
In response to your touch, a thousand smiles - long buried - surface,
dust themselves, and fill my world;
A thousand different smiles and a thousand different moods, for a
thousand different ways you make me feel...
You are my spring Darling, wait for me
I froze - now I thaw, I melt - now I'm free
Free to celebrate the day my heart found yours
Knowing you has brought me happiness and I hope only for;
A chance to touch you deeply...
And live from the place in your heart that you build for me...
Looking outwards at the world from betwixt the comfort and safety of
your love.
Is it impractical to dream, unrealistic to surmise
That two strangers miles apart and with totally different lives
Can cease to exist, as it were - as they were
Can become what I secretly desire, but dare not confess...
Maybe friends, maybe more...
Maybe for the rest of their lives,
To be strangers no more...
