We are the diabetic patients who
inject insulin into our bodies 
and never remove the pies from our diet

We are the most obese animals on earth 
who take a variety pack of  the weight-loss drugs
but never stop spreading on the loveseat           

We are the reservoir of cancerous genes
needing a trigger of Nitrates in the processed meat
but every year add to the number of our fast food factories

We are no longer similar to the Neanderthals
We don't carve bison on the caves' walls        
but keep them in the zoos after killing them in the 1870s

We are equally civilized and wild with ambition
of ruling Mars, and still do not know how to dispose
our wastes. We’ll be no longer the homo-sapiens      

We are evolving to a new species but do not
sense that. I am vainly entertaining my brain, playing
video games, watching TV and looking for a celestial savior
