I express myself through poetry
As a way to cleanse my soul
A means to explore my inner workings 
Using words richer than gold
To release built up emotions
Deeply matted tightly within
Hoping to escape atrocities
Wanting a world in which to befriend

To unshackle my creative juices
Being secured to a sentimental chain
My hand becomes the initiate
Having the burden of presenting my strife
By expressing myself through poetry
I can better explain my life
