Inhabitants of the Moon

by Shaurica

I looked up at the sky
on a cool November night
A full moon peeped back at me
as the stars twinkled bright
     And inspiration struck me
underneath the full moon's light.

I chuckled at the foolish thought
of living on the moon
But with technology advancing so fast
it won't be long, but soon
The Brown Owl must have heard my thoughts
for it began to croon.

'Round me, the cold air steadily blew
as I imagined how it would be
As the lizards, bugs, and insects
climbed a nearby tree
I pondered over living on the moon
and thought: one day it just might be me.
