Bobby

by Sharron Washington

You should have seen your eyes the first time that they looked at me.

I hadn't expected to see you either.

You overwhelmed my senses.

I said I could handle it, but how could I have known it would be like it was

I couldn't.

So, I was seduced.

Flattered, a little chase, soothed. You played that damn piano.

Tall
Dark
Handsome
Intelligent
Patient

What's a girl to do?

I had not had a dark man in years.

They are sweeter, they are more gentle

Yeah, now I remember.

You said you can not handle my situation

I can't change it.

You said the words that I spoke can not be withdrawn.

There is nothing I can do.

I give up.

When I sat with you and you did not feel compelled to touch me

I knew

It was gone.

I am glad that I was there for you.

It was my pleasure.

My body has not been the same since you graced it

Thank You.
