As I listen
To the sound of the ocean breeze
I hear Him 
Whispering to me

As I look up
Into the dark, star-filled sky
He tells me
I am a strong, beautiful Black woman
That He will never give me
Anything less than I deserve
In this lifetime

I am loved
To always keep my heart open
One day
A mortal man
Worthy enough
Will be sent to me

The moon appears
And one star shines brighter
Than all of the others
He 
Is smiling down on me

My heart is full
Of love for Him
I believe 
In His power

I know
To trust in Him
As He guides my path
It’s up to me
To listen and follow 
His lead
