Too Long

by Shai-Inside

When I opened my eyes I saw you weren’t there
So I looked a little further and still nothing near

I washed my face as I always do
Just to see if my worst dream had really come true

You see we traded words just the other day
And I wanted to apologize for mean things I did
And right now for the things I may say

You never appreciated me when there was plenty of time
You never saw me as your friend but you were certainly mine

I remember good moments that we had
I remember even the times that turned out bad

I remember your walk
Your talk
And even your style

But now I’m forced to remember
Your dreams
Your life
And unfortunately the end of your mile………

The point I am getting at ladies and gentlemen
Is to never take for granted your enemy or even your friend

You see I wrote this eulogy to help remind me
How much you mean, and how much I want this moment to never be
Instead of words of sorry and regret
Would you be able to write me a happy eulogy

Love one another
