Tree Growth

by M. Scotton

Joy has arisen from the bottom of the soil
To deliver the mind
Of its corruption from the devil's toil
To bring forth redemption
From the roots of the soul
And as the branch peeks through
To get a glimpse of the sun
The leaves stretch out
And try to reach that ball
That bright yellow sphere that brought life to its soul
It grows taller and taller
Till it reaches its final home
To learn it can't reach,
What its been trying to grab since it came out that hole
For all it wanted to do
Is thank it for being true
For bringing it out of the depths of darkness
And into the light of the new
So in return it drops seeds for which to grow,
To understand and to see why it chose to grow
Upward and onward
To establish new things to know
To learn and become knowledgeable
Of what's going on outside the soil
And not to quit when rain touches its soul
Just to see what that beam of light wanted it to see
A beautiful world,
With beautiful minds
Whom also decided to be free

Be You...One love
