Picture Perfect - Monorhyme Poem

by I_B_WHO_I_IS

Beautiful smile, on a beautiful face
Hair flows down her back, every follicle in place
a body to die for...barely had a waist
Confident..she moved with such style and grace

On top of the world..some may assume true
Just by looking from an outside point of view
The truth is beneath the surface..so let us pursue
The story behind the picture...without further adieu

She's married to her soulmate..or at least she thought
He manifested his so called "love" by the things he bought
Cheated on her...betrayed her trust and soon got caught
When things didn't go his way, with her he fought

Battered and bruised, with make-up she covers her physical pain
He pays all the bills so she's indebted, how could she complain?
"I shouldn't have upset him like that, I'm the one to blame"...
He just "loves" me so much, Our "love is hard to explain..

Moral of this story?...don't judge by appearance alone..
You'd think all is good til truth is made known
What is isn't, what isn't is...it's best to stay in that zone
Looks can deceive the majority...but i'll decide on my own
