Why, When I Have You?

by Walter Rooks

Why reach for baby-blue skies,
pillow-puffy clouds and drift
when I have you?

Why want sunsets still,
year-long yellow-orange and fade
when I have you?

Why wish for shooting stars,
among dark, distant nights and fall
when I have you?

Why, when I have you?
