Eternity

by Walter Rooks

I've seen sun melt
into sea
then form from sea,
making bright yellow-orange-red,
making bright yellow-orange-red.

I've seen sea wash
into shores
then dry from shores,
splashing brilliant aqua-blue,
splashing brilliant aqua-blue.

I've seen shores break
into hills
then mend from hills,
rolling sandy golden-beige,
rolling sandy golden-beige.

I've seen hills slope
into mountains
then shift from mountains,
reaching breathtaking bronze,
reaching breathtaking bronze.

I've seen mountains peak
into sky
then recede from sky,
embracing heavenly hues,
embracing heavenly hues.

I've seen eternity when my eyes look
into yours
then yours back into mine,
knowing your love is all I need,
knowing your love is all I need.
