You Say

by Rain

You say you are not a racist
but how can that be?
You treat me like a second class citizen
even though I was born free.
You say you empathize with my culture
again, how can that be?
On the margin of diversity
my score is a minus three.
you say injustice does not exist
that prejudice in this society is just a myth.
Again I ask you, how can that be?
When the color of my skin allows you to prejudge me!
Racism is an unspoken belief
and there's no such thing as equality.
Racism is the hardest truth for many to accept,
it's 2005 and yes, racism still exists!
