During a time such as this

These poor people are dead and dying.
Amid the devastation of hurricane Katrina
we witnessed again true prejudice and discriminarion.
The news media focused mainly on the black minorities, 
and what a show we gave to the folks out there watching!
"Looting has swept the city," the TV reporters said.
Outbreak of crime, shooting, car jacking and rape!
We couldn't deny it, we were caught red handed on video tape!
We were all made homeless, we lost what little we had.
While you sat back eating dinner, watching our emotional pain.
If we were white people out there floating in the water,
Help would have been there is a matter of minutes!
