Left In A Hole

(To all fathers who weren't there)

by Sinsaysion

Until about a year ago I blamed myself for the things you did
And to tell the truth it was my fault

Every tear that I dropped I should've held on to for more important times
You'd swear up and down you'd be there and every time you'd lie

Every smile I let you take from my face I should've kept
Even though you hurt me so I never should've wept

Yeah it was partially my fault because I let it hurt
The last name you gave me I can grind into the dirt

I'd say I still love you but after all this time
I should have the right to claim what honestly is mine

I could careless what you think of me now because as for you
I'll never take these words back because every word is true

Every time things are at the worst I blame you
You weren't there to do the things a real man would do

Yeah, the truth hurts huh I know I found out
You don't have the slightest clue of what a real man's about

I'm still your child but I'm growing and I now realize
Every word that comes for you mouth is definitely a lie

As much as we've gone through, my mother's always tried
To keep me thinking you were honest and hold on to her pride

Pride you stole from all of us because you're so low down
Fuck grinding your last name should be beneath the damn ground

A real man stands by his family no matter what goes wrong
But to tell the truth your betrayal merely made me strong

It let me know that anyone will treat you bad
Because you did, the so-called father that I never had

But like I said I have no more tears to shed
I won't cry myself to sleep laying in my bed

I know you'll never be the father I wish I had
Never again will you hear me calling you dad

I guess you can say that I'm ashamed of you
But obviously you must have been ashamed of me too

Get as mad as you want but I'm simply speaking my mind
The hurt that you caused I put in a hole and left behind
