Goodbye From Mother To Daughter

by Catherine Prater

I didn't get a chance to say goodbye
I only had time to cry,
i wanted to give you a ceremony
you would throw the bouquet happily
and let your life partner carry you away,
I wanted to cry tears of joy
not cry tears of sorrow,
I wanted to write your epilogue
not write your epitaph,
I wanted you to bid me a farewell
as you toss a rose on my final bed,
and you lived a happy life with
everlasting tomorrows,

This poem is written in loving memory of
of my Daughter Marta Ann Johnson
May she rest in peace.
She left this earth 01-26-2003
