Remember When

by Tracy R. Offer

Remember when grandma took you to church every Sunday

Remember when you were taught what was of me and what was not

Of course not, now you are so into fashion, money, power
Trying to see who you can out do
You have forgotten the values of life
Most of all you have forgotten me

Remember when you couldn’t pay your bills
You were homeless
You had no idea where your next meal was coming from
When you were stranded with no one to call on but me
Your “best friend” let you down

Remember when you called my name “Jesus” every time you were in need
Whenever you called I was there
Now you are doing so much better
You have stopped calling me

I see all, know all, hear all
When I return and open the gates of Heaven
Just Remember when
