We say children are our future
 we limit their education, we don’t respect them 

We say children are our future
We beat their brains out, leave them homeless

We say children are our future
 we refuse to feed them, we don’t teach them right from wrong

We say children are our future
  we can’t control them; we allow them to control each other
And we continue to bury them over senseless crimes

We say children are our future
 we spend more time on plotting what country to destroy
instead of what countries to save

We say children are our future
Yet we only have time and money to live glamorous lives

How will children be our future if we can’t face up to 
our own faults
