He came to me like a thief in the night whose appearance was foretold
To steal the very essence of my mind, body, and soul

You are that apple that Adam ate of Eve
That forbidden fruit, how could I have been deceived

Your words are planted like a tree in the Garden of Eden
Your roots have taken hold and I'm sinking deeper and deeper

Lord, please help me out of this tangled web that he weaves
