Velour

by R. Fitzgerld Nixon

i don't want to feel this way
should i ignore what happened yesterday
the past is hurting us today
will i sigh and walk away

my day is numbered hay
stay up and don't be swayed
you know eactly what to say

the past can save us
give us the needed thrust

trust my relation
the reflection
and a nation that has no patience

slow down or the past is go by you
lie to you
tell them what to do

i'm taking a chance that this word will last
pass the fast and the test of time
and if i'm out of line at least i could ryhme

take it slow
put all my ducks in a row
prepare for the show
map out the way to go

read my lines with an open mind
TO UNDERSTAND IS TO SEE WHEN BLIND
the joy of the sunshine
