If there were a road to divide us
which way would I go?
Would each of you, turn your back on me?
close your eyes,
look away,
or stare at me with disgust and hatred?

I am a product of all forefathers
ain't no need to be afraid
I am made of willpower, strength and love
all that is created by God above

Do you question my beliefs, my ethnicity, my history?
you wonder, think it's a mystery

Is my skin color just a little too light?
I am of your flesh
and still I fight.
Stares of disgust
cause you say I'm almost white
little do you know
I fight your same fight

And for you, is my skin too dark,
hair a bit too coarse?
Ofcourse she cannot be like me
you look at me with disgrace
and wonder
What is my race?
I am of your flesh and still i fight

Equal and segregated
I will be liberated

I am tired of fighting
proven who I am
trying to find out where I belong

Which road would I take?
let me create my own
and walk alone
