Nanci Washington is a writer by trade and chance. She is a native of Rowland, North Carolina and the youngest of three. Writing has been her primary vehicle for self-expression and will likely continue to be. Currently, she has been living in Raleigh, NC for the last 10 years; earning both her bachelor's and master's degrees from North Carolina State University.

She states, "My writing is heavily influenced by the small town in which I grew up. One-stoplight and a population of little more than 1,000 people, I am convinced that it will eventually inspire a style in which I will brand as my literary trademark."
