Education Be Righteous

by Anthony J. Mungin

Why we tellin them
How righteous
Education be
All the careers to which it will lead
When, really we know
It is a lie; a lie indeed
Why not I,
Truthfully say
My child, you're damned
Damned, either way
Why invest millions of dollars and time
When education really isn't worth,
A single dime
Somber is the thought of illiteracy
But why we tellin them
How righteous, education be
How righteous education be
When in dope pushing
A better way, they see
How righteous education be
When educators are the enemies
Why we tellin them
How righteous, education be
When, though gifted they are
They cannot command
A righteous salary
Why we telling them how righteous education be
When they'll soon awaken
To the reality
How righteous education be
If it can't outwit partiality
How righteous, education be
When all's I got is my mind and me
How righteous education be
Can anybody,
Make me see?
How righteous, Education be
