What's in a Kiss

by Kingsley Momoh

Wondered how it is
when I see others do it.
Is it sweet sour or bitter
or like gold that only glitters?

Oh, I am curious.
When I asked, Mum was furious.
Why, She didn't give the answer,
She only cautioned, my manners.

Spoilt child, I was called
when I asked Uncle Paul
"You lack good manners"
That was just His answer.

And on to Rita,
My only sister
'Why do you want to know,
Come on, Just go"

Finally I asked Titi,
She also wanted to know it,
This is a good friend I thought
She really has the guts.

We decided to kiss,
Hey, Something felt amiss!
We stopped licking,
What then is a kiss we kept asking.

Not sweet, Not bitter,
Still wanted it however,
What's really in a kiss?
I wonder what it is.
