All year I have prayed for financial solutions
Debt dissolution and health resolutions
I have no answers and no real solutions 
I have lived many years and I have realized
Life is not what I idealized
The world can be cruel cold and unsanitized
It's really hard for one person to analyze
Today Americans have no reason for elation
With trademark buildings disintegrating
And all around us there is so much devastation
Attacks on the pentagon and world trade centers
Terrorists found a way to strike and enter
The land of the free the home of the brave
Destroy so many lives and create too many graves
I still have the problems that I had all year
But they pale in comparison to my newest fears
We will survive this and we will win
But so many lives will be lost in the end
Now I pray for peace that is no more
