When I'm down and out and feeling sad
I reach for my pen n pad
To take me to places deep within my mind
Tapping into hidden feelings that were left behind
Bringing them to the forefront and painting a picture of my inner self
Showing the raw and uncut me, hoping that my words are felt
Having fun with nouns and metaphors 
Closing my eyes and letting my mind explore
New ideas and outside-of-the-box thoughts 
Always writing and scribbling down pieces of me non-stop
So I can share a little of who I am with all of y'all
Even though I might be short in stature my scribes make me feel 10ft tall
Cause I can travel anywhere my mind takes me at no cost or fee
And others can travel with me if they choose to see
The pictures that I create with the paint from mind 
If you can't feel it then I will catch you another time
